I’ve never used Jekyll before. Actually, that’s not true. I’ve used it perfunctorily. I pretended to understand what I was doing, and wanted to be all trendy and make everything in SASS/HAML/LESS/Coffeescript and pretend that I was cool.
Then I stopped drinking the Kool-Aid, and started doing what I do best–mashing together HTML and CSS to make something marginally pretty, and actually push something out to the Internets. It took a lot less time, and I feel substantially less pretentious doing so. It’s exponentially easier than editing mindless Wordpress templates and hoping that the PHP error messages make sense.
Now to actually do some engineering.
